Tree of LIfe detail from panel by Abdulgafoor
Daud, Rogan painter. This technique of painting
on cloth with natural pigments mixed with castor
oil and gums dates back to the Persian Empire.
No longer employed as a means of decorating
clothing, Rogan painting has been elevated to
wall art by Abdulgafoor and his family.
