Welcome to Desert Traditions…

Welcome to Desert Traditions the small company with a big heart! Founder, Carole Douglas, has a long history of travel, the arts and social and environmental advocacy. Desert Traditions specialises in small group, guided tours to India and beyond. We work with textile artisans on product development and arrange events in India and abroad to promote their work. Our programs are designed to bring about beneficial change for people, place and the planet. When you move with us you move the world.

Kutch, India Tour Guide Kuldip Gadhvi‘Being a local guide, I’ve been guiding many tours in Kutch but working with Carole Douglas is more than a tour. She has deep and old connections with our communities and she loves Kutchi people – everyone highly respects her and so her groups get that extra bit of warm hospitality which so many others can’t. She advocates for artisans’ development and the environment and is always willing to help locals – including me. I give my love, support and best wishes for everything she does.’ Kuldip Gadhvi (Desert Adventures-Kutch Adventures)
